Meiji Lacquer

Lacquer
I was in London last week and went into the galley of a man I meat at Tefaf Maastricht, Malcolm Fairley. He showed me an incredible collection of Lacquer from the Meiji period, very much worth a visit to his gallery if you like Japanese Lacquer from the Meiji Period.

Masterpiece London

A bit of a disappointment really, there were a few highlights, I meat Geoffrey Munn on the Wartski stand. he is utterly charming and an amazing fountain of knowledge. Lucky I didn't take my wife or she would have spent a lot of money on his stand, everything was divine.

Osborne Samuel had an incredible Henry Moore, and the Sladmore gallery had a baby Bugatti but had sold it before I saw it. So cute, I had no idea they had made a limited edition racing car children.

why so late?

Yes I know i posting this after its all finished but it took me a while to figure out how to make a blog and these are transcribed posts from my previous blog, ok?

Tefaf Maasricht

So Tefaf was busy and fun as ever, but Maastricht is boring beyond words, anyway I made 1 new discovery there, Malcolm Fairley. He's been dealing Japanese Art and Japanese Antiques for 30-40 years, very private and he had some amazing things. If you are also interested in his stuff his website has some great stuff.

Robert Hall as always had some amazing snuffbottles on his stand, yes yes I know they are Chinese not Japanese before anyone says something but they are amazing and worth a look for any one who likes beautiful old Asian artefacts.

These were the definite highlights from Tefaf for me, though I see see an incredible Bugatti sculpture on the Sladmore stand that was simply beautiful.

Welcome

So this little blog i've decide to start writing to share my nuggets of wisdom with anyone who is interested.

I hope you like them
